2018’s NBA All-Star Weekend (ASW) in LA was bustling to say the least and I was invited to attend Under Armour’s (UA) HOVR House event where attendees like myself could weartest the HOVR Phantom and Sonic. Both footwear styles launched earlier this month and utilize UA’s newest cushioning technology HOVR which “lifts you up” after each stride.
What differentiates the two styles other than aesthetics? The UA team member explained to me that the HOVR Phantom weighs slightly more than the HOVR Sonic and is good for running + training, while the HOVR Sonic is good for long distance running. I prefer the HOVR Phantom because of its lifestyle appeal and soft, cushy insole; however, both styles are comfortable and it really comes down to personal preference.
To cap off the week and initiate ASW, Under Armour, Finish Line and Capitol Records threw a private party which included an unlimited supply of food and drinks, private shopping sessions for VIP attendees and a performance by Migos, who undoubtedly lit up the stage.
Personally, being able to rendezvous with like-minded creatives was one of the best parts about this experience. It always comes down to meeting genuine people who share similar interests and goals.
Thank you to Under Armour and Finish Line for extending invites!
Check out the visuals below.
Pretty sure this isn’t Jen first time I’ve seen Curry’s worn legitimately as casual sneakers. Dope visuals as always!!
